Some artworks & stills from “The Legend of Hei” chinese animated feature film.
Great designs. I’m also impressed by the lines and the colors of the movie. So pure.

here’s a little animation to keep my tumblr alive. I did this last fall in my animation class at CalArts. We had to pick an audio clip from a movie and I picked “Singing in the rain”
My wallet finally lost the battle to the iPad Pro. Looking forward to doing all kinda fun stuff with my new buddy! Happy Fourth of July! 🎉 #ipadpro #expensiveapple #animation #4thofjuly #animationdesk
Did a little animation run cycle so I don’t forget how to animate! It’s been a while since I last animated anything and it feels good to be doing this again even if it’s just a simple run. I need more practice!
I never thought I would post any of my CG related work here but here’s an homage to The Beach Boys that I did for my CG assignment.
Here’s my graduation film at CalArts! Thanks so much to my friend and family who helped and supported me along the way!

Hi! Thank you so much! I colored all my animation in TVPaint! I mostly color my film once I’m done with animation since I’m slower at animating. I also find coloring to be a lot easier if you have a color script to begin with. That way you can see the color changes in your film from scene to scene in smaller thumbnails. Before I started working on my color script, I knew I wanted earthy colors in my film and that really helped set the tone that I was going for. It’s also helpful to have your color script displayed next to your animation as a reference while you’re coloring your film so you can just eye drop or guesstimate the color based off your color script- I find that to be a HUGE time saver. . It’s really just about planning in the pre-production stage to make your post-production a lot easier. I hope that helps! :)

I took a panel out of my storyboard but I wanted to keep it somehow so I did some rough color test on it.
