here goes my sketches and whatnot

letitellez asked: Hi there, if it's not too much to ask I was just wondering what program do you use to animate? your animations and style are out of this world! please keep being great!

HI, I used TVPaint to animate all my films. I’m hoping to try out something a little different the next time around though and see where that takes me, but thank you so much! I really appreciate it! :)

doujindork asked: Hi! I'm doujindork and I have to ask: how do you color?! I'm not sure how else to phrase that question, but your art is so vibrant and fun to look at, so if you have any tips about coloring, I'd love to hear them. Good luck on all your creative projects!

Hi! Thank you so much! I colored all my animation in TVPaint! I mostly color my film once I’m done with animation since I’m slower at animating. I also find coloring to be a lot easier if you have a color script to begin with. That way you can see the color changes in your film from scene to scene in smaller thumbnails. Before I started working on my color script, I knew I wanted earthy colors in my film and that really helped set the tone that I was going for. It’s also helpful to have your color script displayed next to your animation as a reference while you’re coloring your film so you can just eye drop or guesstimate the color based off your color script- I find that to be a HUGE time saver. . It’s really just about planning in the pre-production stage to make your post-production a lot easier. I hope that helps! :)

elbooga asked: hey, I just want to say I really enjoyed your film Derailed. Very appealing and a lot of fun. I'm a big fan!

Hey, Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it! Makes me wanna work even harder!

I made a LoopDeLoop based off one of my biggest fear as a kid.

I had a week to make a short film for a class so here’s what I made! Enjoy!

Here’s my third year film at CalArts! Thank you so much to everyone who helped me along the process!! :)

I took a panel out of my storyboard but I wanted to keep it somehow so I did some rough color test on it.

I never thought I would post any of my CG related work here but here’s an homage to The Beach Boys that I did for my CG assignment.

Uh oh.. I haven’t posted in weeks. Here’s a little something from a project that i’ve been working on. I have never worked with so many colors in my life before. http://yonhuilee.blogspot.com
