doujindork asked: Hi! I'm doujindork and I have to ask: how do you color?! I'm not sure how else to phrase that question, but your art is so vibrant and fun to look at, so if you have any tips about coloring, I'd love to hear them. Good luck on all your creative projects!
Hi! Thank you so much! I colored all my animation in TVPaint! I mostly color my film once I’m done with animation since I’m slower at animating. I also find coloring to be a lot easier if you have a color script to begin with. That way you can see the color changes in your film from scene to scene in smaller thumbnails. Before I started working on my color script, I knew I wanted earthy colors in my film and that really helped set the tone that I was going for. It’s also helpful to have your color script displayed next to your animation as a reference while you’re coloring your film so you can just eye drop or guesstimate the color based off your color script- I find that to be a HUGE time saver. . It’s really just about planning in the pre-production stage to make your post-production a lot easier. I hope that helps! :)
